Brandfell Steakhouse

A one-page website for a steakhouse with an open fire. One cut goes the whole way: the coals are raked, the ribeye is salted, laid on the grate, turned, cut and served. The page is built from frames and clips made for it, and the scroll leafs through them one by one.

A hearth, a board and a plate

One story in five short scenes: the dining room, the coals, the salt, the grate, the cut and the table — with a word of the house between them.

Open the 3D site

ProjectThe site scrolls: the scene moves with the scroll.

  1. The page opens: the dining room and the open fire at its end
  2. The ribeye up close, with three captions
  3. The third word of the house, “Time.”, on amber; a window rides in under it
  4. The finale: the plate, the last line and one button

What we made

  • The way of one ribeye in seven clips made for the page, from the raked coals to the plate in the dining room
  • Three words of the house between the scenes, each on its own colour: “Fire.” on ember red, “Salt.” on black, “Time.” on amber
  • A band across the ember page, like the mouth of the hearth, that opens to the whole screen while the coals are raked
  • The cut up close: “Ribeye”, “Black pepper” and “Sea salt”, each tied by a line to its thing
  • A window in the amber for the grate, and a row of the three ingredients that runs sideways as the page goes down
  • A typeface pair of its own, a footer made as the carving board with the name burnt into the wood, a phone version
