Tresswell Hair Salon

A one-page website for a hair salon, told as one visit: the lightener is mixed, a strand is painted and folded into foil, then the rinse, the scissors and the dryer. Each step is a short clip made for the page and cut into frames that the scroll turns.

A chair, a mirror and one colouring

Four acts under the salon’s three words: the room and the chair, the colour, the cut and the light — with one button at the end.

Open the 3D site

ProjectThe site scrolls: the scene moves with the scroll.

  1. The page opens: the salon, the chair at the mirror and the salon’s three words
  2. “Colour.”: a hand presses the foil over a painted strand
  3. The phrase “From dark to honey.” on a flood of copper
  4. The finale: honey lengths in the arch of the mirror, the last line and one button

What we made

  • The story of one colouring in eight short clips, cut into frames and turned by the scroll
  • Colour floods that come out of things in the picture: dark hair, the copper of the cape, the sunlit wall
  • Windows of different shapes: a round one for the bowl of lightener, the arch of the salon’s mirror in the finale
  • The salon’s three words — colour, cut, light — as the acts of the page, each set large on it
  • The phrase “From dark to honey.” on copper, its two lines drawing apart as the page goes down
  • A serif with an italic for the soft words, a footer made as a shade chart with seven swatches, a phone version

Dunelight Sunscreen

An SPF 50 sunscreen. A round window in the orange — the sun — grows until it is the whole screen, and a day on the beach goes by.
