Privacy policy
What information the Lime Duo website receives, why we need it, which services it goes to, and how to ask us to show, correct or delete it.
Who we are
Lime Duo is a web design studio in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This page explains what personal information we receive through limeduo.com and what we do with it. We follow Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada’s federal privacy law, PIPEDA.
The founders of the studio are responsible for personal information. Send questions and requests to hello@limeduo.com.
What we receive and why
An enquiry from the form
When you send the form, we receive what you typed into it:
- your name and email address;
- your phone number, the name of your company and an approximate budget, if you gave them;
- the service and the package you picked;
- the address of your website, if you gave it;
- your message.
The language you were reading the site in comes with the enquiry. We use this to reply to you, discuss the task and prepare a proposal — and, if we start working together, to run the project.
You will get one confirmation email at your address. We do not send newsletters.
The website check
On the “Website check” page you type in the address of a site. We pass it to Google PageSpeed Insights, which measures the speed and returns the result. We keep neither the address nor the result.
Protection from spam
When you send the form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is sending it, not a program. To do that it receives your IP address and technical data about your browser.
Our server also sees the IP address and holds it in memory for no longer than a day, to limit the number of enquiries and checks from one address. The address is not written to a database.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records technical details of every request: the IP address, the time, the page address and the type of browser. Every server does this; the details are needed for security and troubleshooting.
Correspondence
If you write to us by email, in a messaging app or on social media, we receive your message and the address or account it came from.
What we do not do
- We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
- We do not sell your information or pass it on for advertising.
- We do not collect anything beyond what you send yourself and the technical details described above.
Cookies and browser storage
The site has no advertising or analytics cookies. It keeps in your browser only what it needs to work:
| What is kept | Why | For how long |
|---|---|---|
The NEXT_LOCALE cookie | Remembers the language you read the site in | One year |
| A flag in browser storage | Remembers that the opening screen has been shown | Until you clear the site’s data |
| A flag in the tab’s storage | Brings you back to the same place on the page after you switch language | Until you close the tab |
While it checks the form, Cloudflare Turnstile may keep its own technical data in your browser.
Who we share information with
The site runs on outside services. Each one receives only what it needs for its own job:
| Service | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts the site | Technical details of requests |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Checks the form for spam | IP address and browser data |
| Resend | Delivers the emails from the form | The contents of the enquiry and the confirmation email |
| Google Workspace | The studio’s mailbox | Enquiries and correspondence |
| Google PageSpeed Insights | Measures the speed of a site | The site address you typed in |
The servers of these companies are outside Canada: in the United States and, for some of them, in other countries where these services operate. So the information is stored and processed there and is subject to the laws of those countries. To ask how we work with these services, write to hello@limeduo.com.
We may disclose information when the law requires it.
How long we keep information and how we protect it
We keep enquiries and correspondence while we are talking to you and running the project, and afterwards for as long as they are needed for our records and for questions about the finished work. If no work started, we will delete your enquiry when you ask.
The site works only over a secure connection (HTTPS). Only the founders of the studio have access to its mailbox.
If a breach of your information creates a real risk of harm to you, we will tell the privacy commissioner and you, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can:
- find out what information about you we hold and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct mistakes;
- withdraw your consent and ask us to delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Write to hello@limeduo.com — we will reply within 30 days.
If you think we have mishandled your information, please write to us first. You can also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (oipc.ab.ca (opens in a new tab)) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca (opens in a new tab)).
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom
The GDPR may also apply to your information. We process it because you contacted us and expect a reply, and because we need to protect the site from spam and abuse. Besides the rights above, you can ask us to restrict the processing, object to it, receive your information as a file, and complain to the data protection authority of your country. Your information is processed in Canada and the United States.
Children and other sites
The site is meant for adults — business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
The site links to messaging apps, social networks and other websites. They have their own privacy rules.
Changes and contact
