Kestrow Sneakers

A one-page website for sneakers with no one in the picture: the shoe drops onto a concrete plinth, comes apart in the air, comes back together and goes into its box. Every movement is a clip made for the page and cut into frames, which the scroll turns one by one.

A plinth and one shoe

A story in four acts: the drop, the layers, the foam and the box. Between them the phrase of the page runs across the black.

Open the 3D site

ProjectThe site scrolls: the scene moves with the scroll.

  1. The page opens: the shoe has dropped onto the plinth
  2. The shoe apart in the air, a name to each layer
  3. The phrase on the black, its two lines running apart
  4. Lights out: a steel ball over a block of the foam

What we made

  • A story with no one in it: the shoe drops, turns its heel, comes apart, comes together and is boxed
  • Every movement is a clip cut into frames: the scroll turns them one by one, forwards and back
  • Five callouts that ride up the page past the shoe, each tied to its layer by a line
  • The foam shown by a test: a steel ball falls on a block of it, in a window that opens in the black page
  • An orange flood that starts from the heel tab, and a phrase set as wide as the page
  • An italic typeface of its own, a footer made as the label on the end of a shoebox, a phone version

Morrowfield Watches

A mechanical watch. The scroll goes in through the crystal to the wheels — and comes out to a dial glowing in the dark.
