Dunelight Sunscreen

A one-page website for an SPF 50 sunscreen, told as one day on a beach: the morning surf, the tube out of the bag, the cream down an arm, a wave round the cap, the long shadow two hours later, the sunset. The day is made of frames and clips produced for the page, turned by the scroll.

A beach, a tube and one day

One story in four acts: the morning, the sun and the cream, the water, and two hours later — the sunset with one button.

Open the 3D site

ProjectThe site scrolls: the scene moves with the scroll.

  1. The page opens: a morning beach, a towel and a straw bag
  2. A round window in the orange — the sun: a hand takes the tube out of the bag
  3. “SPF 50.” on the colour of sand, beside a tall window where the cream goes on
  4. The tube in the surf, the tag “Water resistant” tied to the foam at its cap

What we made

  • One day in eight clips made for the page, from the morning surf to the tube back in the bag at sunset
  • Three floods that become the page: the orange of the tube, the cream, the turquoise of the sea
  • A round window in the orange — the sun — that grows to the whole screen; a tall window on the sand beside “SPF 50.”
  • Tags on strings: “Water resistant” tied to the foam at the cap, “Reapply every two hours.” tied to the shadow that tells the time
  • A rail of the day in the header and four stills of that day that run sideways as the page goes down
  • A typeface pair of its own, a footer made as the corner of the towel in the sand, a phone version
