Maizewood Taco Bar

A one-page website for a taco bar. The story goes one way, from a ball of corn dough to a board of four tacos: the press, the griddle, the salsa, half a lime. The scroll turns frames and clips made for this page, and the tags and the floods are live layers on top.

A yard, a press and one board

Five scenes with pages of colour between them: the yard, the press and the griddle, the carnitas and the salsa, the lime, and the board under the sign.

Open the 3D site

ProjectThe site scrolls: the scene moves with the scroll.

  1. The page opens: a lane and the yard through the gateway
  2. A round window on the green: corn dough on the press
  3. The phrase on the green: “Corn, lime, salsa.”
  4. The finale: the board under the painted sign and one button

What we made

  • A story in five scenes, in one direction: from a ball of corn dough to four tacos on one board
  • Frames and clips made for the page: the scroll turns them one whole frame at a time, forwards and back
  • Two windows that open to the whole screen: a round one, round as a tortilla, and a card set a little askew
  • Three floods that become the page: the green of the leaf, the cream of the dough, the chile of the salsa
  • Name tags tied to their tacos by a line, and rows of large words that run sideways as the page scrolls
  • A heavy signboard typeface, a footer chalked on the bar’s menu board, a phone version

Brothmere Ramen

A ramen shop in a back alley. The red of the lantern by the door floods the screen, and the kitchen opens in a window on that red.
