Emberloch Whisky

A one-page website for a single malt Scotch whisky aged twelve years. The page follows one cask: the warehouse by the loch, the iron on the new oak, the aisle where the years are counted, the pour by the fire. It is all frames and clips made for the page, turned by the scroll.

A loch, a cask and a glass

One story in four acts: the loch at dawn, the iron on the oak, the warehouse and its cask marked 12, the pour and the fire with one button.

Open the 3D site

ProjectThe site scrolls: the scene moves with the scroll.

  1. The page opens: a stone warehouse on the shore of a loch at dawn
  2. The embers of the brand have flooded the screen: “Ember & oak.”
  3. A band across the pale page: the bottle over the glass, with three captions
  4. The finale: the glass taken by the fire, the last line and one button

What we made

  • The story of one cask in six clips made for the page, from the loch at dawn to the glass by the hearth
  • A door ajar on the dark page: a slit of the picture that opens to both sides as the iron lifts from the oak
  • Floods that become the page: the embers of the brand, the light in the glass, the amber of the whisky
  • The years counted up on the way down the aisle to the cask marked 12
  • Words tied to their things: “Oak casks” and “Single malt” at the sample, “Emberloch 12”, “700 ml” and “Scotch whisky” at the pour
  • A typeface pair of its own, a footer made as the head of a cask with the name stencilled across it, a phone version
